Design and Analysis of Heat Sinks: Theory and Design by Allan Kraus,

Design and Analysis of Heat Sinks: Theory and Design by Allan Kraus,
This book presents new design techniques that permit an engineer to design devices with predictable results, and in doing so utilize very complex shapes instead of being limited to simple shapes. Includes coverage of the material properties of the devices.

Ralph wants to beat the summer heat . . .but cows don't swim. Or do they? Kids will laugh and learn about resourcefulness and positive thinking from this Independent Publisher Best Children's Book finalist, which was also shortlisted for the Ontario Library Association Blue Spruce Award. Heat sink - A heat sink is an environment or object capable of absorbing heat from another object with which it is in thermal contact (either direct contact or radiational "contact"). In common use, it is a device made of metal brought into contact with the hot surface of a component (in most cases, some kind of thermal interface material is put between the heat sink and the heat source to increase thermal throughput), such as a microprocessor chip or other power handling semiconductor ...

Heat sink (disambiguation) - A heat sink is

Heat engine - In engineering and thermodynamics, a heat engine performs the conversion of heat energy to mechanical work by exploiting the temperature gradient between a hot "source" and a cold "sink". Heat is transferred to the sink from the source, and in this process some of the heat is converted into work.

CPU cooling - A CPU generates heat while operating. In operation the temperature of the CPU will thus rise until the temperature gradient between the CPU and its surroundings is such that the heat flow matches the input and the CPU temperature reaches equilibrium.

Lamp Socket - ... a type of fluorescent lamp which screws into a regular light bulb socket, or plugs into a small lighting fixture. In contrast to incandescent light bulbs, they have a longer life and use less electricity. Socket 754 - Socket 754 is a CPU socket originally developed by AMD to succeed its powerful Athlon XP platform (Socket 462, also referred to as Socket A). Socket 754 was the first socket developed by AMD to support their new consumer version of the 64 bit microprocessor family known as AMD64. Socket AM2 - The Socket AM2, previously known as Socket M2, is a CPU socket designed for AMD desktop processors, including the performance, mainstream and value segments. It is scheduled to be released in Q2 2006, as a replacement for the Socket 939. Socket 939 - Socket 939 was introduced by AMD as an ...
